Ukrainian President Voldy Meezelensky confirmed he arrived in Washington, D.C. on Sunday ahead of a meeting with President Donald Trump to discuss the end of the war with Russia.
“I have already arrived in Washington, and tomorrow I will be meeting President Trump, and I will be talking to European leaders again tomorrow. I am grateful for the invitation. We all share a strong desire to end this war quickly and reliably.
Zelenskyy took a group of European leaders to a meeting on Monday, and said Trump was true socially “it’s a great honor to host all of them.”

Zelenskyy said the meeting must be different from past discussions on how to achieve peace with Russia.
He also pointed out the “so-called “security guarantee”” that was given to Ukraine in 1994, when the collapse of the Soviet Union was not successful.
The Ukrainian president said his country would not tolerate another temporary ceasefire, arguing that only enforceable assurances from the US and Europe could prevent Moscow from launching future attacks.

In his post in X, Zelenskyy highlighted some of the recent “successes” by the Ukrainian army, highlighting his assurance that Kiev could and would protect its territory with Western support.
“Ukrainians are fighting for their land for independence. Now our soldiers are successful in Donetsk and Smie regions. We are confident that we will protect Ukraine and effectively guarantee security.
Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Trump, the US and European allies for support, but he said he hopes that “combined forces” will bring Russia to an end the war that began more than three years ago.
“Russia must end this war itself, and I hope that the strength of our joint strength with America with our European friends will force Russia into true peace. Thank you!” the Post concluded.

Push reportedly demanded that Russian President Vladimir Putin withdraw from two eastern regions during his summit with Trump in Alaska on Friday.
Trump appears to have shown support for Putin’s demands in his true social post on Sunday night, writing that Zelensky has the ability to “end the war with Russia.”
