The Hacienda Heights man has been sentenced to nine months in federal prison for organizing a massive transport fraud scheme that includes thousands of false claims, federal prosecutors said.
On August 14, 2025, 43-year-old Ting Hong Yeung pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and was sentenced by US District Judge Mark R. Hornach in Pittsburgh, according to US lawyer Troilivetti. Yeung will serve as a three-year supervised release after his sentence.
Prosecutors said between August 2018 and June 2020, Yeung used various business organizations to file more than 6,000 fraud claims for lost or damaged ground cargo. However, the cargo was not actually lost or damaged. Yeung collected settlement payments from the false claims, causing economic harm to the package delivery company, authorities said.

Judge Hornak told the sentence and highlighted both the scope and severity of the scheme, noting the impact the fraud had on shipping companies. US lawyer Nicole A. Stockie charged the case.
This is not Yong’s first federal belief. In 2022, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison for fraudulent Amazon out of more than $1.3 million through years of refund fraud. According to the prosecutor in that case, Yeung ran multiple third-party seller accounts on Amazon, listing high-value items at discounted prices, and delivered fake tracking numbers or cheap alternatives in place of items purchased by customers. He also engaged in fraudulent refund requests and sometimes returned less valuable items while maintaining revenue from sales.
At the time, prosecutors described his actions as a seven-year scheme that forced Amazon into a “elaborate game of Whac-a-Mole.” He was ordered to pay more than $1.3 million in reparations, using partial gold and silver bars seized from his home.
