LOS ANGELES (KABC) — The driver of a potentially stolen car drove dangerously in the Los Angeles area, making wild turns and driving on the wrong side of the road before finally being arrested. He abandoned his car and attempted a bizarre escape on foot. .
Just before 5pm on Friday, AIR7 was on scene as the suspect was driving erratically through Inglewood and nearby areas. Law enforcement did not pursue the driver, but the suspect weaved through traffic and drove at high speeds on the road.
The driver eventually stopped and abandoned the vehicle near Compton Avenue and East 92nd Street in Watts. A woman emerged from the car and began walking or jogging through the neighborhood in an attempt to escape.
At one point, she apparently tried to hitch a ride with a passing driver, but no one stopped her.

She then entered an apartment complex several blocks away and attempted to hide, but was taken into police custody minutes later.
The suspect was taken to the hospital, but his condition is unknown.
Law enforcement was pursuing the suspect at one point, but switched to a vehicle pursuit when the pursuit became too dangerous.
