Police have arrested a woman who allegedly posed as a nurse and worked at a Los Angeles County hospital without a permit.
The Burbank Police Department said Thursday that Amanda LeeAnn Porter, 44, of Virginia, is suspected of posing as a registered nurse and supervising dozens of patients for a month at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center. Announced.
Police said Porter does not have a nursing license and is currently on federal probation for fraud in her home state.
She was hired by Catholic Hospital under a false identity in April. From April 8 to May 8, she supervised 60 patients until co-workers discovered she was impersonating a real nurse who lived out of state.

She was eventually fired, but not before her two paychecks were withheld for employment fraud, officials said.
Porter was arrested last week after being released from prison for allegedly pulling the same stunt at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Santa Clarita. Investigators said she used a false identity to obtain employment at multiple hospitals.
Both hospitals released statements to KTLA saying Porter was fired shortly after the truth about his identity and qualifications was revealed.
She was on probation and under the supervision of a qualified training nurse while at both hospitals. Neither medical facility considered the care she received during her short salary period to be inadequate, officials said.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged her with multiple felonies, including identity theft, identity theft and grand theft, officials said.
She is currently being held without bail at the Los Angeles County Central Regional Detention Center in Linwood.
She is scheduled to appear in Burbank Municipal Court on Dec. 2, according to jail records.
Investigators believe Porter may have committed similar crimes throughout Southern California in the past year, and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Arias of the Burbank Police Department at 818-238-3210. I am calling on you to do so.
