The southbound lanes of Highway 605 between Interstate 5 in Downey and Firestone Boulevard in Norwalk will experience numerous lane closures Friday night into Monday morning.
The southbound freeway will be completely closed Friday and Sunday night, with only lane reductions for the rest of the weekend.
Friday
All southbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday until 4:01 a.m. Saturday to install K-rail and temporary striping.
Saturday
Two southbound lanes will be open to traffic from 4:01 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday.
Sunday
All southbound lanes will be closed again from 11 p.m. Sunday until 5:01 a.m. Monday to remove the K-rail and restripe the highway.
Monday
All southbound lanes will reopen to public traffic by 5:01 a.m. Monday.
The northbound and southbound I-5 connectors to southbound I-605 will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday until 5:01 a.m. Monday.
Florence Avenue and the Telegraph Road entrance ramp to Interstate 605 southbound will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday until 6:01 a.m. Monday.

During the total highway closure, traffic will be detoured from local arterial roads. However, Caltrans is asking motorists to avoid the zone and use alternative highways such as Highways 110, 710 and 57.
