Los Angeles police say Gossip Girl actor Chanel Banks has been found safe after she was reported missing days ago, but her family insists the 36-year-old is still missing. There is.
Los Angeles police announced Wednesday that Banks, a Playa Vista resident, was found in Texas after being reported missing on Nov. 8. The family said in a GoFundMe post that welfare checks were made at Banks’ home on Nov. 7 and 8, but she was not home.
The family last had contact with Banks on October 30, according to the post. Missing person posters were distributed in Los Angeles’ West Side neighborhood.
Details regarding the circumstances surrounding her reported disappearance were not immediately available.
On Wednesday, Los Angeles police told NBCLA that they received a call from authorities in San Antonio, Texas, informing them that Banks had been found safe. Police said there were no signs of foul play.
After reports surfaced that the Bankses had been found, her cousin and mother held a press conference in Playa Vista, insisting the Bankses had not been found.
“Please don’t stop looking for my cousin,” Banks’ cousin Daniel Tori Shin said in a social media post.
Singh said he has seen body camera footage and audio of the woman who was found in Texas. She insisted that the woman was not Banks.
NBCLA reached out to Banks’ husband, who said she had been traveling and was not reported missing. He pointed to a post on his wife’s Instagram account and said, “She’s fine.”

Banks played Sawyer Bennett in three episodes of “Gossip Girl.” She also appeared in “Blue Bloods” and appeared in the movie “Twelve.”
