Her family is asking the community for help finding a Maui woman who missed her connecting LAX flight and hasn’t been seen or heard from since Nov. 10.
They say the last message Hannah Kobayashi, 31, sent to her family was alarming.
“She was scared and said someone might be trying to steal her money and identity,” her aunt said.
Kobayashi is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, and fair skin with freckles.
According to Kobayashi’s family, Kobayashi was traveling from Maui to New York City to visit family, but missed his connecting flight in Los Angeles at 11 p.m. on Nov. 8, so he missed the LeBron James event. He decided to go to The Grove for this purpose.
When she returned to Los Angeles International Airport a few days later, her aunt, Larry Pidgeon, said that’s when she started sending him concerned text messages.
“The strange, cryptic messages, the Matrix stuff, it was completely different from her,” Pidgeon told KTLA’s Angeli Kakade. “Then all of a sudden we can’t get in touch.”
