Four taco stands in Los Angeles’ South Bay area were robbed at gunpoint by a group of men late Friday night and early Saturday morning, leaving some employees seriously injured.
According to preliminary information, the first incident was reported around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Torrance Boulevard and Denker Street in Torrance and involved three to four suspects.
During the robbery, two taco stand employees said they were severely beaten with gun butts. Video from the scene obtained by KTLA shows the employee with head and hand injuries. One of the people was taken to an area hospital and the other was treated at the scene.
It is believed that nearly $2,000 was stolen in the incident.
The second robbery occurred less than three miles from the first robbery and approximately 40 minutes later. This time, the target was a taco truck in the Harbor Gateway area near 190th Street and Normandy Avenue.
The incident also involved armed men pointing guns at workers and demanding money.
They allegedly took about $1,000 and fled in a black Scion.

While police were at the scene of a second robbery, a third incident was reported at a taco stand near Torrance Boulevard and Vermont Avenue around midnight.
Footage from a third scene shows an employee being treated for a head injury at the scene after being pistol-whipped by at least one of the suspects.
About 30 minutes later, a fourth robbery was reported near 182nd Street and Western Avenue in Gardena.
An employee at the targeted taco stand said he and other employees were assaulted at gunpoint by the suspects.
Employees say an unspecified amount of money was stolen from the location. The suspects, believed to be the same black heirs involved in the previous robbery, fled the scene.
Initial reports indicate that all four robberies are related and were carried out by the same three or four suspects armed with firearms. They were only described as Hispanic men.
KTLA reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for details on each robbery.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact police.
