A 37-year-old Santa Ana High School choir teacher was arrested on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student, authorities announced Saturday.
According to a Santa Ana Police Department report, officers responded to Santa Ana High School, 520 W. Walnut Street, on Friday around 6 p.m. in reference to a report of a 17-year-old senior allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a teacher. did.
The student reportedly told police that he had been having a sexual relationship with Yesenia Navarro Garcia of Orange for about six months.
Police said the suspect texted Garcia, who had worked at the school for about five years, to meet him at the Santa Ana location. Police said Garcia was arrested upon arrival and admitted to all of the sexual acts reported by the boy.
She was booked into the Santa Ana Jail on several sexual assault-related charges. Her bail was set at $100,000.
