Police say they have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl in a Santa Ana park.
The Santa Ana Police Department issued an alert on social media Wednesday, saying detectives have identified a suspect, Benedicto Partida Quinones, after multiple witnesses reported seeing him inappropriately touching a girl on a swing. ) indicated that the search had begun.
The exact date and time of the incident have not been made public.
“According to multiple witness statements, the victim was sitting on a swing when Benedict touched her buttocks over her clothes,” SAPD said in a statement Wednesday. “He then fled the area on foot.”

Partida Quinones, 58, was featured in the department’s “Wanted Wednesday” social media post this week. Police at the time urged the public to be on the lookout for him and to call them if they had any information about his whereabouts.
But authorities announced Saturday night that that information was no longer needed because the location where Partida Quinones was detained that day had been determined.
It has not been revealed where he was. The exact nature of his charges is also unclear.
