Ralph Macchio will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday, next to his popular “Best Kid” co-star.
The star will be unveiled at an 11:30 a.m. ceremony at 633 Hollywood Boulevard. In front of Escape Hotel. Macchio’s star rank will be second only to the late Pat Morita, who played the role’s mentor, Mr. Miyagi, in the “Best Kid” movie series.
Macchio will be joined by William Zabka, Macchio’s castmate on The Best Kid and Cobra Kai, and Tamlyn Tomita, who played the love interest of Macchio’s character Daniel LaRusso on The Best Kid, Part II. participate. Tomita also appeared in three episodes of “Cobra Kai.”
The ceremony follows the release of the second set of five episodes of Cobra Kai’s sixth and final season.
Born November 4, 1961 in Huntington, New York. Macchio began his career appearing in commercials in the late 1970s. He made his film debut in the 1980 comedy film Up the Academy. That same year, he joined the cast of the ABC Family drama Eight is Enough, making his television debut as Abbie Bradford’s (Betty Buckley) troubled nephew Jeremy.
After Eight Is Enough finished airing in 1981, Macchio starred in Francis Ford Coppola’s coming-of-age crime drama film The Outsiders. His other film work includes “My Cousin Vinny,” “Hitchcock” and “Teachers.”
Macchio’s other television credits include “The Deuce,” “Psycho,” “Ugly Betty,” “Happily Divorced,” “Entourage,” and “Head Case.”
Macchio will reprise his role as La Russo in the next installment of the “Best Kid” series, “Best Kid: Legend,” which is scheduled to be released in May 2025.
