Last week, authorities arrested or charged about 20 people involved in an illegal gambling operation in South Los Angeles.
According to a Los Angeles Police Department news release, officials received multiple anonymous tips to LA Regional Crime Stoppers regarding possible illegal gambling and drug activity at 10122 S. Figueroa St.
The address given by police is a small shopping plaza that includes a laundromat, a tire store and a smoking area. The exact location within the square where the illegal activity took place was not disclosed.

Authorities conducted a sting operation Thursday night starting at 8 p.m., and officers from several LAPD divisions executed search warrants at the scene.
“During the search, officers recovered several illegal gambling machines, narcotics, and two firearms,” the Los Angeles Police Department said. “As a result of the operation, individuals were arrested or charged with a variety of offenses including illegal gambling, drug possession and firearms violations.”

According to police, a total of 22 people have been arrested or wanted, all of whom reside in Los Angeles.
The following individuals were arrested and charged with felonies:

Los Angeles Police Department said 15 other people were cited and released.
