LOS ANGELES – Organizers of the much-anticipated Latin music festival Besame Mucho, which was scheduled to take place at Dodger Stadium, have canceled the event weeks before major artists were to take the stage.
Shakira, Pitbull and Los Tigres del Norte had been tapped to headline the Dec. 21 festival, but fans were disappointed to learn on Monday that it would no longer take place. This festival celebrates Spanish-language music.
Festival organizers took to Instagram to explain what happened.
“We regret that due to circumstances beyond our control, this year’s Besame Mucho Festival will not be held at Dodger Stadium,” the caption reads.

The statement went on to explain that organizers take “great pride” in “bringing generations together and celebrating great music and culture each year in a way no other event can.”
“We are deeply disappointed to share this news after working tirelessly all year to bring you another unforgettable show in December,” the statement continued.
Everyone who bought tickets to the festival will receive a full refund, but that’s not enough for some fans.
The comment section of the post was flooded with comments expressing disappointment.
One follower said: “It’s really frustrating, but a month in advance? So many people booked their transportation in advance. This will definitely hurt future events. Try harder.” I wrote.
Another criticized the festival for being held just days before Christmas. “It was difficult to participate in the festival as the expenses were already high in December,” the source said.
One person decried the cancellation, calling the festival a “Latin Fire Fest” and citing the massive fraud that turned out to be a music festival in the Bahamas in 2017.
“I’m devastated. Crying, sobbing, sobbing, wailing, sobbing, screaming,” another woman commented.
