Rams receiver DeMarcus Robinson will play Sunday against New Orleans despite being arrested on DUI charges, coach Sean McVay said.
“I talked to him and he expressed the seriousness of this and how important it was that no one was hurt,” McVay said Wednesday during a regularly scheduled media availability at the team’s Woodland Hills training facility. In his first conversation with Robinson after his arrest, McVeigh said, “There are too many rides, whether it’s Uber or whatever. We have to be smarter than that. I believe there was genuine, sincere remorse. ” he is said to have said. And I think he will apply that lesson going forward. ”
According to the California Highway Patrol, at 5:13 a.m. Monday, a trooper noticed a white Dodge sedan speeding on the northbound Ventura 101 Freeway south of Tampa Avenue in Woodland Hills.
After the officer stopped the sedan, the driver identified himself as Demarcus Dontavian Robinson, according to a CHP statement.
CHP officials indicated the suspect was driving at more than 100 mph. Officers observed what they considered to be “symptoms of alcohol impairment” and arrested Robinson on suspicion of DUI, and he was “released to responsible parties,” according to the CHP.
Robinson, 30, has 26 receptions for 384 yards and a career-high six touchdowns this season. He caught a touchdown pass in Sunday’s 37-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at SoFi Stadium.
