Irvine police are searching for a man who stole a package from a UPS delivery driver and left with a MacBook Pro.
Irvine Police say a UPS driver was delivering a laptop to a home in Northwood on Nov. 18 when a man approached the employee. Law enforcement said the man may have shown the driver a false ID to collect the package.
Surveillance camera footage captured the exchange. The man in question is seen with dark hair, a beard, and glasses. He was seen wearing a white T-shirt and black pants.
The man’s victim, John Shin, said he was disappointed in the situation.
“I walked around the block looking for him and couldn’t find him,” he said. “Then we found a video of the Tesla driver passing the luggage to another person.”
He added that when he asked about the package, he didn’t receive much help.
“The delivery company said they had received the package, but they said it wasn’t addressed to me, so it’s a little unfriendly,” Singh said.
