The Ventura Police Department is searching for a woman in her 70s who is suspected of running over a fallen bicycle, getting out of her car to check on the victim, and then returning to her car without offering help.
A 71-year-old bicyclist struck an object in the road and crashed at Foothill Road and La Fonda Drive around 5:20 p.m. Sunday, police said in a news release.
A bicyclist was lying on the road when a white sedan, which police believe was a Lexus, ran him over.

“The occupants of the vehicle stopped shortly after, got out of the vehicle and walked toward the victim,” police said in a statement. “Both occupants then returned to the vehicle and fled before police and paramedics arrived at the scene, making no attempt to render aid to the victim.”
The driver of the sedan was a woman believed to be around 70 years old, and the passenger was a woman believed to be around 20 years old.
Meanwhile, police said the man riding the bicycle was in serious but stable condition.
