Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies in Duarte patrolled shopping center parking lots this week, ticketing cars that left valuables in plain sight.
The department’s Temple station confirmed it issued a “kind reminder” to shoppers who left their belongings visible in their cars in the parking lot, which could lead to break-ins and other crimes.
The “ticket” urges people to “avoid becoming a victim” and asks them to check whether personal items such as wallets, mobile phones, wallets and watches are visible in the car, and even labeled luggage. It is pointed out that You don’t have to pay for a quote.

Authorities are reminding people to keep their windows down, cars locked at all times, and personal belongings locked inside trucks. If you have a stereo, you will be asked to record the serial number of your device or engrave your driver’s license number.
