What’s a rising NFL star doing when his team is in its bye week? Washington Commanders quarterback Jaden Daniels is determined to make sure kids in his hometown have a great holiday season did.
The San Bernardino native, who broke through the high school ranks at Cajon High School before a stellar college career at Arizona State University and Louisiana State University, returned to Cajon on Saturday to organize his first toy drive.
So, along with games and a food truck, Daniels collected toys to hand out to children in need before Christmas.

The potential NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate spoke with KTLA’s Omar Lewis on Saturday and emphasized giving back to the community that has given so much to him.
”[I started this drive] “I just want to give back to where it started, the high school where I made my name. It means the world to me,” Daniels said.
Daniels explained why she thought it was important to reach out to young people back home.
“It’s about giving inspiration and hope and being able to give back to the community where I grew up,” he said.
Daniels led the coaches to an 8-5 start in his rookie season, putting the team in position to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season.
