Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian in Canoga Park.
On Dec. 6, the victim, identified only as a man in his early 40s, crossed De Soto Avenue westbound just north of Gresham Street around 5:15 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. was.
The suspect was driving a gray/silver vehicle heading south on De Soto Avenue when he collided with a pedestrian. Police said the suspect continued driving and did not stop to help the injured victim.
The victim was eventually located by paramedics and pronounced dead at the scene.
His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
Detectives said there was heavy traffic at the time and there were likely many witnesses with information that could help track down the suspect.

“Motorists are reminded that if they are involved in a collision, they must pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, call emergency services, remain at the scene and identify themselves.”Los Angeles city police said.
