Southern California’s latest lottery winner hit the Arleta jackpot. There, Severeven on Woodman Avenue sold $207 million worth of Powerball tickets.
Lottery fortunes continues to steer towards Southern California, which boasts two of the four Powerball Jackpot winners this year. The previous one was revealed in March when tickets worth $515 million were sold in Anaheim.
The latest lucky numbers were announced on Saturday, with victory tickets matching six, 29, 37, 56, 68 and all Powerball Numbers 13.
The winner, which has not yet been revealed, can receive a $207 million installment over $30 payments over 29 years, or a lump sum payment of $92.5 million before taxes.
Seven-Eleven will also receive a $1 million payment. In California, retailers selling victory Powerball tickets earn half the percent of their total payments, a $1 million cap. The jackpot was over $200 million, so the store got a complete bonus.
On Sunday, one of the store managers told KTLA that it was the most exciting thing that happened in all the years he worked there. He said, “I can’t believe it at all.”
Socal Winning Streak dates back to 2022, with Edwin Castro setting a Powerball record with a $204 million jackpot. In 2023, a market near Skid Row sold tickets worth $1.08 billion. A few months later, the Fraser Park store sold tickets worth $1.73 billion.
