The seven-year-old, who lost everything to the Pallisard fire, including her beloved Dodgers memorabilia, was amazed at the kind gestures from her favorite teams and players.
“I’m so happy!” said Poppy after receiving her new Dodgers jersey.
This was one of several gifts from the Dodgers in Los Angeles. This was signed to a signed bat and a catcher Will Smith jersey.
“I was watching the game, and she was just a newborn,” said Poppy’s mother, Erika Fikdal.
Fiksdal says he received special treatment from “Boys in Blue” and the current World Series champion.
Poppy lost Smith’s most valuable photo of the World Series and all her belongings when her home burned in the Palisade fire in January.

“I’ve been raising poppies in my childhood room on the walls of my closets I drew in high school. She would go to the school I went to and play in the park where I played,” Fikdal said.
She says that family friends contacted online sports platforms and retailers, fanatics about their losses.
The company is connecting fans affected by the fire to their beloved local team, including Poppy.
In a post on the Fanatics Instagram page, catcher Will Smith signed a photo of herself, replacing each and every one of her lost photos, expressing her sadness to Poppy and her family, and invited her on the first day.
Poppy walked to the stadium last week with his new Clayton Carshow jersey and sang “Ball Game to Take Me Out” with the crowd.
“It feels normal for them to come back and they’re playing. We can sit down and watch the game,” Fiksdal said. “It’s really powerful, not just Los Angeles and all the people that have supported all the people that have been affected, but all the strangers, friends, family, and everyone we’ve met, and the enormousness of it, and the number of people like us.”
