A lifeguard in Torrance Beach, Los Angeles County, took action quickly after it was found to be sinking into the sand this week.
Upon arrival, the lifeguard helped to stabilize the dolphins and maintain hydration.
The image showed a pair of lifeguards sitting with a trapped dolphin who remained a few feet away from the seawater.
While the lifeguard awaited further support, he used a bucket of water to keep the baby dolphins as comfortable as possible.
The dolphins were eventually transferred to Marine Mammal Care Los Angeles in an unknown condition for further treatment.
It was unclear what caused the dolphins to be trapped on the beach.

“Married mammal chains can occur for a variety of reasons. While it may be appealing to support, it is important to give these animals space and notify experts,” the official said in the post.
Anyone encountering a disease or a closed marine mammal should warn the nearest lifeguard and report the sighting to @MarineMammalcare at 1-800-39-Whale.
