Police say a California woman died after leaving the flounder on the Hawaiian coast.
Stacy Coon, 59, from Oroville, Butte County, went for a swim Sunday afternoon at Whittington Beach Park, an area of Big Island known for its potentially dangerous water conditions.
Police responded around 2:40pm to help their tormented chin. A distressed Kuhn cried out for help after realising she was 40 yards off the coastline where she was originally swimming. The area was taken to the coast by several bystanders who managed the CPR after the CPR continued to respond, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
Coon was taken to Kaer Hospital about 10 miles away, where she was later declared dead. Her autopsy is still pending, police said, but the death is being investigated as a drowsing.
According to local guides, there is a warning sign at the park in the town of Nā’ālehu in the Ka’u district, but there is no local lifeguard. Some locals said the tidal pools and fish ponds in the park are safe for swimming.
“I was born and raised in Cow. [my family] I’ll go a lot when I was growing up. My dad never swam us there. A local local wrote it on Facebook. [beach]. People need to adhere to the warning. ”
According to SFGATE, Kuhn visited Hookena Beach Park, known for its calm waters and proper snorkeling conditions. It is unknown if she is traveling alone.
