Ju judges heard during their second week testimony at the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs as prosecutors tried to prove sex trafficking and assault.
Rapper and actor Kid Kudi was in the position of a witness. Singer Dawn Richard also came from the group Danity Kane.
There was further testimony from witnesses. They said they saw him defeating his ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Kathy Ventura. Ju umpire also heard testimony about guns, terrors and cars burning.
The trial resumes on Tuesday after an anniversary holiday.
Here are some key moments from the second week:
Brick Brick, Prosecutor is trying to prove assault
Many of the cases presented by prosecutors so far have revolved around accusations of Ventura of physical and sexual abuse for years, forcing her into a sexual encounter called “freak-off” with a man who was paid thousands of dollars to have sex with her.
But Combs wasn’t just accused of a sex crime. He is being charged with assault. Prosecutors say Combs will use his business and employees to prove “enforce, promote and conceal acts of violence, abuse and commerciality.”
Some of these employees testified in the second week.
George Kaplan, a personal assistant at Combs from 2013 to 2015, told the ju deputy that after the music producer finished his freak-off, he would throw away alcohol bottles and drugs from his Combs hotel room and clean baby oil.
He said he never reported any abuse to authorities even after Combs defeated Ventura on his private jet.
Another personal assistant, David James, testified that Combs stocks hotel rooms with other supplies, including Viagra, condoms, baby oil and lubricant.
He also said that Combs had three handguns in his lap when he drove to a Los Angeles diner looking for Suge Knight, co-founder of his record industry rival Deslow Records.
Ventura’s mom tells the ju umpire that jealous combs demanded $20,000
Ventura went on a brief date with Kid Kudi during a period that seemed likely to split up with the Comb.
Ventura’s mother, Regina Ventura, testified that after her daughter sent an email saying that Combs had learned about her relationship with Cudi, she planned to retaliate by releasing a tape of Ventura having sex.
Ventura then said that Combs contacted her and angeredly asked for $20,000 and that he owed it because he spent the money on her career.
Ventura tapped home equity and handed out money to Combs’ business. A few days later, the money was returned.
Kathy Ventura took the position on the fourth and final day of May 16th, and testified at the sex trafficking trial of ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs. Chloe Melas, a correspondent at NBC News Entertainment, who was in court, shares with Hollywood that the ju-describers had heard of another aspect of Ventura.
Kid Cudi testifies about the invasion and bombed vehicle
Kid Cudy testified Thursday that when Ventura called him in December 2011 and said Combs had learned they were dating, he heard “very stressed, nervous, just scared.”
Kudi said he was confused as he thought Comb and Ventura had broken up.
He then said one of Combs’ assistants would be called.
She says that the comb and the aide are at Kudi’s house, waiting for him to talk to him. She also said she was pushed into the car to join them.
Kudi said he ran to his house, but Combs was gone. Inside, he testifies and discovers that a Christmas gift has been opened and his dog is locked in the toilet. After the intrusion, his dog is “very unstable and always on the edge,” he said.
Then someone set fire to Cudi’s car and destroyed it.
The next day, a Cudi set where he met with combs, crushing beef at a hotel in Los Angeles. As he walked in he said Combs was staring at the standing window with his hands behind his back “like a Marvel supervillain.”
Comb denied that it had nothing to do with the burned car, but Kudi said he didn’t believe him.
Singer Dawn Richard talks about the threat of death
Dawn Richard, the first witness of the week, took a major break in the music business as a cast member of Combs’ reality television show “Making the Band.” She performed with two comb-backed acts, Danity Kane and Diddy – Dirty Money.
However, Richard said he threatened her life after seeing Combs beat Ventura and hit her in a frying pan in 2009.
She said she saw Combs defeat Ventura frequently. “He’s going to punch her, suffocate her, drag her, slap her in her mouth,” she said.
Former Danity Kane and Diddy – Dirty Money Singer Dawn Richard went on to her testimony after witnessing the hip-hop mogul allegedly attacked her then-girlfriend Kathy Ventura in a frying pan, before claiming she was threatened. Trial lawyer and legal expert Misty Maris, who was in court, explains how the defense reacted to Richard’s disturbing allegations and why she believes there is a contradiction in her story to get access to Hollywood. And Kelly Morgan, a former friend of Ventura, also rose to testify about the violence she saw the comb being given to Cathy.
Ventura’s longtime friend explained why she’s not a friend anymore
Kelly Morgan said he dropped out with her 17-year friend Ventura after Combs attacked her in 2018, after attacking her in anger, seeking to find out that Ventura was cheating on him.
Morgan said he threw a hanger on her head and tried to suffocate her, leaving him with dizziness, vomiting and a concussion, leaving him with fingers choking around his neck.
She met Ventura at a pizza parlor as Morgan was considering a lawsuit a month later. There, Ventura had a non-secret agreement of her signature in return for $30,000, she said. But then Ventura “he thought I was milking it, and she said I was overly exaggerating it.” They haven’t spoken since.
The hotel manager says Combs has always left costly confusion
One of the last witnesses of the week was Frederick Zenmore, general manager of Lamitage Beverly Hills in California.
He revealed that Combs’ guest profile points out that “always spilling candle wax on everything and using excess oil.” The profile ordered staff to “prevent the room from being organized when they leave for deep cleaning.”
“Please allow guests to be with us and an extra $1,000 to cover the damage to the room,” said the guest profile for Combs.
Witnesses testify that Combs likes to use candles and baby oils while they are freak-off.
Levitty finds a place in a trial on violence
Despite the serious subject matter of the trial, there were some light moments.
On Thursday, the former Combs personal assistant shared that his former boss “loves applesauce.”
Combs nodded and smiled as Kaplan said, “I’ll eat it on or on a lot of things.”
“Cheeseburger?” asked defense attorney Mark Agnifilo.
“Cheeseburgers are one of them,” Kaplan said as laughter erupted beyond the courtroom.
Justin Bieber clears rumors that he was killed by Sean “Diddy” Combs in a statement from a representative who was acquired by Access Hollywood. “Justin is not among the victims of Sean Combs, but there are individuals who have been really hurt by him,” the spokesman said on May 15.
