A woman driving a car in Orange City was shot dead early Tuesday morning, police said.
The Orange Police Department said the Honda SUV was shot dead at about 12:30am, moving south on Highland Street approaching Del Mar Avenue. The area where the shooting occurred is a residential area near the intersection of Meat Avenue and North Stastin Street, directly adjacent to the 55 Expressway.

“An unknown male suspect shot multiple rounds into the car,” Orange Police said on social media. “The female adult driver was hit and declared dead on the scene.”

She was not immediately identified by name.

The passenger in the car, also listed as an adult woman, sat in the front seat but was not injured in the incident, authorities said.
After firing the fire, the male suspect fled on foot, authorities detailed.
Video from a scene shot by KTLA photojournalist Dan Lansford shows a Silver Honda SUV collided with a red Nissan SUV, with the latter vehicle struck by a parked pickup truck.
No further details have been provided by law enforcement agencies. Officers remained on scene until an investigation Tuesday morning.
