The man suspected of killing his ex-girlfriend and daughter in a drive-by shooting in Compton is on the run and is believed to be armed and dangerous.
The Los Angles County Sheriff’s department is looking for Donte Lamont Brown, a 41-year-old resident of Compton, a 41-year-old resident of Compton, according to a department’s news release.
Sheriff’s deputies answered a call about a shooting at the intersection of Caldwell Street and South Central Avenue around 7pm Tuesday and found Hall, 45, lying on the ground nearby, suffering from a gunshot wound. Her daughter was found nearby in the passenger seat of a crashed car and also bleeding from a gunshot wound.
Deputies and Compton Fire Department officials tried to provide life-saving assistance, but both victims were asserted that they were both dead at the scene.
Investigators learn that Brown was stopped at the lights on Caldwell Street, unleashing numerous shootings, attacking both his mother and daughter, but then ran into the victim’s car, according to the sheriff’s department.
The hall left the driver’s side and fell to the ground, causing fatal injuries. The car then continued to move forward with Martin, who was injured in the passenger seat. The sheriff’s department found the 22-year-old would not respond after colliding with a traffic light pole at the southeast corner of the intersection.
Brown escaped from the southbound scene on South Central Avenue, and his whereabouts remain unknown, sheriff’s officials said.
The department said detectives are using up all their leads in Brown’s search and are seeking the public’s support in finding him. He is known to frequently appear in the Compton and Long Beach areas and is thought to be armed.
