The ominous video arrested many teenagers mercilessly lying down on the streets of Mid Wilshire in a daytime attack that was being investigated.
Video shot Saturday shows about 20 teens attacking and beating a man near the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard and Carrillo Drive. The video was captured around 5pm and officers were called to the scene for the attack in a deadly weapons investigation.
After speaking with the witness, the officers learned about the victims, and a group of young people in their 20s and 30s on bicycles were involved in the discussion. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, several teenagers kicked and attacked the victim’s car, urging them to leave the car and confront them.
“Several suspects in the group began to hit the victim’s vehicle and kick them. As the victim left the vehicle and confronted the group at that point, some of the suspects began to assault the victim. I’ve said.
Police said the fight continued in which other teenagers participated in to attack the driver. They then fled south on Carrillo Drive.
The attacker is described as being between 16 and 18 years old.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and treated the victim for the injury. The victim refused to be transported to the hospital.
“One eye was closed, he had black eyes. His jaw was swollen. He couldn’t look good at all. It’s really, really sad,” says Natasha Espinal, who knows the victim’s family. I said. “It shouldn’t happen. It’s very sad for everyone to see. It’s scary.”
Espinal contacted the victim’s mother and reached out to his neighbor to see if he recognized the teenager who attacked his 27-year-old son.
Police did not disclose the victim’s name.
Anyone who recognizes the video’s individual or has information about the attack is encouraged to contact Detective Carlos 41244, 213-922-8229, LAPD Wilshire Area. Anonymous tips can be created by contacting Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
