The suspect was arrested after a man was found stabbed to death in a Lancaster car.
On March 12, Los Angeles County Councilman responded to a report of a man injured in the 1800 block of Avenue I at about 8:13am.
The victim, Manuel Cobalbias, was taking a break at the time. He was eating lunch in his car when suspect Reuben Rosario, 23, suddenly approached the car and attacked him, authorities said.
The victim was stabbed several times in the head and neck before the suspect escaped the car scene.
Deputies arrived to find the victim with a fatal stab wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died of injuries.
Detectives later identified Rosario as the main suspect. On March 14, deputies discovered the rosary’s vehicle and implemented a traffic stop. He was arrested for murder.
Rosario was charged with one count of murder by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Investigators said the fatal attack was not provoked and the motive behind the stab wound remains unknown.
