A missing woman lives in Colorado, where she feared she was dead in the California desert

Kelsey Pittman’s family had reported her missing weeks before authorities found her car parked outside Death Valley National Park.

Pittman was known to go with “Infinity Jane” or “Jane Jones,” but her family had little clue as to where she was.

Pittman was known for visiting Las Vegas, but the last person she heard from was in November and came into contact with local Utah police.

In addition to her abandoned vehicle, there were no signs that the 33-year-old was in the Inho County area.

But now the search is over. Authorities said this week that she was found alive – Colorado.

“The Inho County Sheriff’s Office is relieved to announce that Kelsey Pittman is alive in Colorado,” the agency said in a Facebook post Tuesday.

Respecting the privacy of her and her family, the department said it would not provide any other details about the incident.

This news closes the chapter on months of searches related to law enforcement in multiple states.

Pittman’s family in North Carolina reported missing in November.

Inyo County Sheriff’s deputies first became involved in the lawsuit when they responded to a report of a suspected vehicle parked near Slab City on February 9th.

Lawmakers discovered the 2009 Chevrolet HHR, with North Carolina plates parked in the area. The vehicle has been registered with Pittman. Deputies searched the vehicle and the area but did not find her.

An investigation into missing persons has begun. Even her mother came to Inilo County to take part in the search, the sheriff’s office announced in a news release earlier this month.

The Slab City community is made up of RV residents, artists, and other bohemians who live off-grid.

The conditions in the area where Pittman’s vehicle was discovered are notoriously infamous, and it is known that hikers will become confused by the extreme heat and disappear and die in the surrounding deserts.

Investigators coordinated with multiple police agencies, drone pilots, corpse dog handlers and volunteer search and rescue teams to run out of those efforts until they searched for Pittman. In announcing her findings, Inho County officials thanked the search and rescue personnel for their efforts.
