She has been estranged from her husband, Thomas Albert Tamayo Lizaraga, 45. He calls police officers Zamora and her date, 43-year-old Hector Garduno, on a date, after 9:30pm outside a sushi restaurant in the 15,200 block of Summit Avenue.
Police say Lizaraga first shot Gardono and then pointed the gun at his estranged wife.
Fontana Police Officer Stephen Reed said a deputy from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Officer who was off-duty in the area heard a gunshot and rushed to the scene to see Lizaraga fleeing. The outlying vice-chairman stopped his car on the street, confronted Lizaraga and fatally shot him, police said. A gun believed to be in use by Lizaraga was recovered at the scene.
Zamora and Gardono were taken to the hospital by paramedics, where they died of injuries.
Zamora’s daughter Jazzlyn Zamora lamented her mother in a Gofundme post, where she described Lizaraga as her stepfather.
“My mother was more than just a mother. She was the light of her community,” Jazzlyn Zamora said. “She lifted and inspired countless women, reminded them of their worth, their strength and their potential. She always said, “Women can do anything they have in their hearts,” and she lived those words every day. ”
Zamora worked as a personal trainer and has attracted over 150,000 followers on Instagram.
Garduno was the father of four daughters, according to a post from GofundMe, which his family founded.
“He was a loving, devoted, hardworking man who was tragically murdered and soon went,” read a message from his daughter Yesenia Garduno. “He lived his life on power and did everything he could for his four daughters and his family.”
