The race between a BMW driver in Palmdale and a motorcycle rider in Palmdale ended with a shooting that struck the rider and was hospitalized on Monday afternoon.
After receiving a call for an attack with a deadly weapon around 4:30pm, lawmakers were sent to East Avenue Q on 25th Avenue East to contact the victim.
The unidentified victim told deputies he was riding a bike racing a white BMW on Avenue Q from the 30th East when a female passenger made several hand gestures as he approached the 25th East, the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station posted on Facebook on Tuesday.
“Some seconds later, the victim felt extremely painful in his right leg,” the post read.
Those who called 911 also stopped to check on the victim, informing him that he had been shot by a male BMW driver.
“The victim was handled on the scene due to a single gunshot wound by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, through a gunshot wound that entered his butt section and left his right inner thigh,” the Sheriff’s Department said.
The rider was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Investigators discovered one 9mm consumption shell casing at the scene and were able to identify and arrest the suspect later that night.
