The high school senior was identified as the victim of a tragic and fatal Manhattan Beach crash early Sunday morning involving a suspected driver under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The teenage victim, now identified as Brown Levy, reportedly was walking with a friend when he was hit by a 33-year-old driver identified as Jenia Belt around 12:45am.
The collision occurred near the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Ronda Drive.
When officers from the Manhattan Beach Police Station arrived at the scene, the teen was found on the road next to the 33-year-old’s car.
Emergency personnel from the Manhattan Beach Fire Station rushed Levy to the hospital. There, despite life-saving measures, authorities said they succumbed to injuries and were declared dead.
Investigators confirmed that Belt was booked for driving while in custody and affected.

Lovers, family and friends are visiting the Crush location, where the growing memorial is filled with flowers and photos remembering Levi, a senior at Loyola High School.
Many of the visitors to the monument didn’t want to go to cameras, but told KTLA’s Carlos Sauseud that Levi was an outstanding student-athlete and tennis team captain, and was tied up at Virgina University after graduation.
“Brown was a shining presence in our Loyola family and brought light, joy and inspiration to everyone he touched,” Loyola HS Principal Jamal K. Adams said in a message to the school community.
Early in the evening, students and their families were seen in mourning on the school campus where prayer vigils were held.
School officials also said Loyola’s counselling department is ready to support students, faculty, staff and community members who may need it during this period.
