The cool, rainy weather pattern will likely bring an April shower to Southern California in the coming days.
The boring trend is projected to begin on Friday morning, with “patchy drizzle” potentially developing from deep ocean layers in most of the region. The Los Angeles area was able to see more rainfall on Saturday as the low-pressure system moved.
“It’s going to be cool, cloudy and wet on Saturday,” said Carol Smith, a Meteorologist from the Oxnard-based National Weather Services. “It’s a second half of the season storm.”
Rainfall across LA County could reach a quarter inch on Saturday, about half an inch on the mountain, she said. Showers may come at the end of the rainy season, but this time of year is not unprecedented.
Downtown Los Angeles typically sees about three-quarters of an inch of rain during April. So far, the total for the month is 0.09 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Much of Southern California is in drought after a sub-average rainy season.

Incoming calls also provide significant cooling.
The region is expected to have highs in the mid- to mid-60s on Friday, but said Saturday will be cool a few times.
“Sunday will warm up a little bit again,” Smith said.
By Monday, the valley in LA County is expected to have returned to the ’70s.
