A Southern California man who fled the country was arrested and charged with an attack by a federal officer.
The suspect was identified as Elpidio Reina, 39, of Compton, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
On June 7, Reina is accused of throwing concrete blocks at executives and law enforcement agencies for conducting immigration enforcement efforts at Alondra Boulevard, Paramount.
The thrown object injured federal officials and injured government vehicles as they drove, authorities said.

After the incident, Reina had fled to Mexico. Mexican authorities later found Reina from Sinaloa.
After negotiations, Reina agreed to surrender to the FBI on July 23, officials said.
He was detained at San Isidro’s port of entry by the FBI and US Customs and Border Protection Agents and taken to Los Angeles.
US Attorney Bill Essay said one of the officers who arrested Reina was in one of the vehicles damaged in the attack.
“For those who think they can attack federal officials and hide behind masks and helmets, Reina’s arrest today proves that they can find and claim someone who violates federal law,” the essayri said in the X-Post.
