A Southern California man has been arrested and charged with sex trafficking of a 15-year-old girl.
The suspect was identified as Belcher, 37, of Long Beach, 37, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
On May 29, officers of the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force received information about a 15-year-old girl who was being exploited for commercial sex in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
Placied Vercher, 37, of Long Beach, can be seen in reservation photos from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Within hours of receiving the hint, investigators found a girl from Anaheim. The suspect was driving on the 91 highway when officers pulled him and took him into custody.
Details remained limited, and authorities did not release information on how the victim met the suspect or the duration of the alleged sex trafficking.
On June 2, prosecutors at the DA’s office accused Veltier of pimping for a prostitute under the age of 16, pandering with minors under the age of 16, and trafficking minors.
Vercher is in custody and is being held on $200,000 bail.
Authorities will ask anyone who may be a victim or knows a victim of trafficking to call the National Trafficking Resource Center hotline at 888-373-7888 or contact local law enforcement agencies.
