A Southern California man was sentenced to 111 years in prison for raping and sexually assaulting five women he met through dating apps and social media.

Dustin Ronald Alba, 30, of Oxnard, was convicted of the crime by a ju judge on June 9, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced. On July 31, he was sentenced to a crime.

The crime occurred between 2012 and 2020 and took place in locations in Thousand Oaks, Oxnard and Los Angeles.

Many of Alba’s victims met him through dating apps and social media. They would usually meet in person before being forced into sexual acts by Alba, prosecutors said.

“Even though he repeatedly pleaded for a halt, he would use his weight to lock the victims and ignore their objections,” court documents said.

In the August 2020 incident, Alba met a woman she was connected to through a dating app. The woman said she was not trying to “connect” to him before the meeting.

They spent the day together before finishing at his house. It said, “Alba tore her clothes, pulled her to the bed, and digitally penetrated and raped her against her will,” court documents said.

Out of fear, the woman obeyed. She immediately left his house and reported the rape to law enforcement.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, but Alba’s cell phone was searched and detectives found text messages showing other women who were victimized, sexually assaulted and raped by him.

Four additional victims were later discovered. Authorities said one of the victims was under the age of 18.

On June 9, Alba was convicted of nine felony counts of forced sexual acts, including rape, sodomy and attempted forced rape, against five separate victims.

The special allegations were found to be true, including the fact that there were multiple victims, that he used his position of trust and that the victim was vulnerable and engaged in acts of violence.

“The defendant’s sexual violence caused deep harm to many victims and guaranteed a sentence imposed,” said Rosa Romero, Ventura County Deputy District Attorney, who charged the case. “I can’t erase the pain I endure, but it’s my hope that the victim will begin to heal.”
