The former Ventura County School counselor, arrested on suspicion of abusing eight children, was charged with additional offences after five more child victims were identified.
On April 29th, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced 42 additional fees for David Lanebruff Jr. in Thousand Oaks.
Bluff was arrested earlier on November 22, 2024 on suspicion of abuse of eight students at McKebbett Elementary School in Santa Paula. The crime is said to have occurred between 2015 and 2019 when Bluff worked as a school counselor.
He worked as a principal and school counselor when he was detained at Ingenium Charter Middle School in Los Angeles. He is in custody on $3 million bail.
On April 29, prosecutors filed an amended criminal charge that added 14 new felony counts of indecent conduct in children under the age of 14.
Four of the new victims were also students at McKebbett Primary School. The fifth victim is said to have been abused between 2004 and 2005, but Bluff worked with the Conejore Creation and Park District in Thousand Oaks.

Bluff is currently accused of abusing 13 children, and the total number of offences charged has increased to 31 counts of child abuse against male and female victims, prosecutors said.
The first accusations also included allegations that Bluff used his position of trust, preying on particularly vulnerable victims, and committed planning and sophisticated crimes.
Bluff’s full employment history has shown that he has done a lot of work that involves working with his children over the past 20 years.

“The defendant is currently accused of abusing a younger victim in multiple years and locations,” said Ventura County District Attorney Eric Nasalenko. “Our investigators and prosecutors are still committed to clarifying the full scope of this defendant’s crime, urging anyone with information to contact our office.”

An arrest hearing is scheduled for May 21st in Ventura County Superior Court.
