Police are searching for a suspected robber who ran an elderly man in Orange County.
The incident occurred on June 4th, when Santa Ana police responded to a parking lot near 2100 South Bristol Street in Santa Ana at 12:20pm.
The victim, an 83-year-old man, approached by a suspected female who offered to help him put food in the car.
While helping him, the woman drove to a nearby vacation car after stealing two gold chains from the man’s neck. The necklace is worth more than $4,500, police said.

The woman entered a white Mercedes GLS 450 SUV driven by a male accomplice.
Surveillance footage of the conflict, released on July 16, showed the victim trying to stop the SUV from fleeing, but the suspect continued driving and knocked him before running down his legs and lower body.
Security guards witnessing the incident are seen running to help the man.
Police said the incident was an example of “distracting theft.” He said this is a scheme that involves distracting victims by providing assistance and placing jewels/items on the victims while working to steal their belongings.
“This incident coincides with the pattern observed in similar cases, including a suspect known as a Romani traveler,” Santa Ana Police Department said.
The suspect was said to be a woman between 20 and 25 years old. She is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. She finally saw her wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans.
