According to a former US International Development Agency official, USAID’s green energy program could have done more “harm” than anything else to developing countries.

“I can’t think of anything that has hurt developing countries more than the climate agenda,” says Max Primorak, the top USAID official under President Donald Trump’s first administration, and the United States around the world. He spoke when asked about programs that violate the interests of the program.

“The powerful Chinese infrastructure developed at USAID was simply dismantled by the next administration,” he told lawmakers at the House Foreign Affairs Committee entitled “USAID BETRAYAL.”

“[USAID] It has now become green in all these countries, especially in Africa. Solar, Wind, EV: Who produces all these materials? It’s China. Then, in addition to that, “No, you can’t develop your own fossil fuel industry. So, what happens? They can’t generate revenue to generate good jobs at home. They can’t You can’t generate revenue to fund your health, education, or other needs.”

Primolac claimed that green energy infrastructure in developing countries would “increase energy prices.”

According to Primolac, 19 of the top 20 countries that received USAID are part of China’s belt and road initiatives, securing assistance from the CCP in exchange for impact.

Primolac said developing countries “want more trade and more investments,” but “res” conservative countries that don’t want “to make things happen.” ” is building.

The Trump administration has enacted a 90-day suspension on all foreign aid, assuming offices. After Trump fired USAID General Paul Martin this week, he said he would hamper oversight of up to $8.5 billion in unused aid through Elon Musk and Government Efficiency (DOGE) efforts to dismantle USAID. I wrote a report saying it was hindered. Martin’s report claimed that while USAID staff from other countries have been called back and taken leave, there is a risk of ruining about $500 million in food aid.

USAID is currently within the State Department of State and is in the process of reducing staff from 10,000 to less than 300.

Republican witnesses at the hearing largely agreed that foreign aid is important to ensure disease outbreaks around the world and US benefits, but USAID’s reputation was a former GOP MP Ted Yoho, Florida, was “discolored” by “mission creep.” I said.

But Yoho said he came to Congress to cut foreign aid before realising its importance around the world. Andrew Natz-Os, USAID administrator under President George W. Bush, warned that a comprehensive freeze of aid around the world would be harmful.

“By suspending international support for the US, we create a vacuum. China, Russia, or others are already moving to fill those voids,” Yoho said.

“It’s definitely worse than suspending the program, and all you have to do is look at South America and Central America and see what we’re going to do All we can do is put in the discount and see the impact from Russia, China and Iran. To deal with it immediately.

Nazzios said he was “cary” by how the Biden administration tied Yuseid to the “culture war.”

“It’s a failure,” he said. “Everything I did with aid, I tried to do it in a way that didn’t alienate the Democrats when I left.”

However, he pointed out that the “wake-up” program is a “small percentage” of the USAID budget, with the agency giving Christian NGOs $1 billion a year.

Republicans argue that there is an exemption process, but aid supporters say NGOs and charities don’t know how to apply for the exemption.

“I met these Christian groups and even if they have exemptions, the Phoenix system is not working,” said Nuts Os, referring to the institution’s financial program. “Do something about that.”

During the hearing, Republicans were $20 million for Ecuadorian drug show, a USAID-funded NGO that had been conducting abortions, a program that sent millions of dollars to drain condoms in Afghanistan and Mozambique, and It pointed out $500,000 to promote Nepal’s atheism.

“All of these programs gave USAID a black eye, which is a shame,” he said, former chairman of the committee, who claimed that USAID “exploded” his hold in the controversial program. said Rep. Michael McCall of R-Texas.

Foreign Affairs Chairman Brian Mast agreed. “If done correctly, foreign aid will be one of the best tools. It will help strengthen relations with allies and help America be the best for America,” he said. .

He promised that more aid surveillance would come.

“We will take the individuals responsible for implementing these horrifying policies and reveal all the receipts, videos – everything for the American people to see.”
