Editor’s Note: KTLA contacted the US Department of Homeland Security to comment on the issue prior to its publication. At the time of publication, DHS was not responding. KTLA will update this article with new information that is now available.

The California Teachers Association says one of those detained during the protests against the federal immigration attack in Camarillo this week is a professor at a local university, and he has not heard or seen since.

The crowd soon began to gather outside the glasshouse farm. Marijuana grew the facility on Laguna Road, Camarillo on Thursday and Friday, but federal agents carried out an operation stemming from the Department of Homeland Security saying it was a criminal warrant against the company. Another attack, including Glass House Farms, took place at Carpinteria at the same time.

More than 200 people were arrested as a result of the attack, and officials said they found at least 10 child workers during the operation. Glasshouse Farms is currently investigating child labor violations and says the company is fully working with US immigration and customs enforcement officers.

During Thursday’s protest, Sky5 captured at least 30 people sitting on the wall in handcuffs with brown paper bags in front of their legs. More detainees were seen in the area. However, it was not clear whether they were related to the protest or whether they were arising from the attack.

The US Department of Homeland Security later confirmed that four U.S. citizens were arrested for resisting or assaulting officers.

On Friday night, California Teachers Association (CFA) officials issued a social media post advising Dr. Jonathan Anthony Caravelo, a professor at the California State University Channel Islands, was filmed during the demonstrations on Thursday.

According to the CSUCI staff directory, Professor Caravello is a lecturer in philosophy and mathematics.

According to a CFA social media post, the professor was not far from the CSUCI campus, near Las Posas Road and Laguna Road on Thursday at 2:33pm.

“The four masked agents dragged Jonathan to an unmarked location without giving reasons for arrest, without revealing where they were taking him, without identifying themselves,” the post reads.

Professor Jonathan Caravelo of California State University Channel Islands can be seen in photos on the CSUCI faculty directory page.

The professor has not used his medicine since Thursday’s loss of failure, the Post explains in detail.

Caravello has not been seen or heard since as of 10am on Saturday, but has not yet been recorded.
