A judge calls her a “predator” and scolds her for being spineless, giving the actor more than double the sentence sought by prosecutors on Monday for his role in a multimillion-dollar fraud case against a mentally ill doctor. He was sentenced to 90 months in prison. Died.

At a sentencing hearing Monday afternoon, U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson said the seven-and-a-half year sentence was necessary to reflect the seriousness of Anna Rene Moore’s crimes against “vulnerable victims.” said.

The government had recommended 41 months in prison. Moore’s federal public defender recommended a sentence of 27 months in prison. In handing down the harsher sentence, Anderson called Moore a “wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

Anderson said Moore and her ex-boyfriend, Anthony David Flores, embarked on a scheme to exploit the victim, Mark Sauche, and “seize his assets.”

Moore pleaded guilty last year to seven felonies, including conspiracy to commit mail fraud, mail fraud, money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Flores was sentenced in June to nearly 16 years in prison.

During the hearing, Moore wore a white prison jumpsuit and apologized to Sorce’s family for what he called an “unacceptable involvement.”

Moore said she has battled depression, anxiety, insomnia, anorexia and “severe codependency” throughout her life.

“If I had the confidence to face [Flores] If I had been more positive, things could have gone differently,” she said. “I know that, I understand, and I’m really sorry.”

But Anderson was unfazed.

“There comes a time when you have to be held accountable and accept responsibility,” Anderson said. “When you have to stop blaming your boyfriend for your mistakes.”

Ms. Flores and Ms. Moore met Mr. Soush, a wealthy Malibu doctor with an expertise in investing more than $60 million, at an ice cream parlor off Venice Beach in June 2017. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Mr. Soush has experienced severe mental illness, resulting in his hospitalization and subsequent arrest.

At the time, Moore and Flores were living in Fresno, running a window cleaning business and a yoga studio. Moore is also an actor, and his credits include one-episode roles on shows such as Law & Order and Criminal Minds.

Within days of meeting Soush, Flores and Moore moved into his Malibu waterfront home, living rent-free, federal prosecutors said. They entered his life as his caregivers and new confidantes, living with him from September 2017 until his death in May 2018.

In his plea agreement, Flores admitted that he convinced Sauche to give him power of attorney when the doctor suffered a mental breakdown severe enough to be arrested in September 2017. Mr. Flores opened three different bank accounts in Mr. Soush’s name and used the funds to transfer money. Moore’s personal expenses and funding for his fledgling public relations firm.

According to the plea agreement, Flores represented to Moore and others that he authorized the use of the funds “because the victims had become ‘investors’ in all of Flores’ businesses.”

Authorities say that in the days before Soush’s death, Flores and Moore gave him LSD, which worsened Soush’s mental state. While Mr. Soush was under the influence, Mr. Flores changed the two-factor authentication on Mr. Soush’s brokerage account to Mr. Flores’ phone and initiated two wire transfers of $1 million that eventually led to him and Mr. Moore was transferred to the bank account of

Soouche died alone at home that Memorial Day weekend. The plea agreement revealed that Flores and Moore had been monitoring Soush through his home’s security cameras from a luxury hotel in Santa Monica before he died.

Mr. Flores and Mr. Moore continued to withdraw money from Mr. Soush’s account after his death until his mother and sister filed suit. The accounts were frozen and Mr. Flores and Mr. Moore attempted to recover the funds through various money laundering schemes.

The two moved to Mexico during the COVID-19 pandemic, but have since separated.

After completing his sentence, Anderson said Moore will be given three years of supervised release. She and Mr. Flores were also ordered to pay $1 million in restitution.
