The suspect’s lawyer in the murder of actor Jonathan Joss claimed that his client was not a crime of accusation against him, but not only that, according to his version, he acted in self-defense.
“Freddie’s position is that he is innocent. It’s difficult for what they didn’t do, especially for those accused of murder,” said Attorney Nicola Hood.
Joss was shot dead in San Antonio on June 1st. Police at the scene discovered the actor on the ground and shot dead a life-threatening injury.

His husband said he had arrived that day to check the mail when he was attacked by the accused, Sigired Seja Alvarez.
“That’s not true at all. In fact, it’s what confused Freddie the most. It’s not a hate crime. Freddie has a gay brother,” Rahood said.
The lawyer added that there is a wealth of evidence in the case, including videos, testimony and at least 70 police reports, including suspects and alleged offensive behaviour.
What is known about the incident
The actor, known for roles in series such as “King of the Hill” and the comedy “Parks and Recreation”, was found near the San Antonio Police Highway around 7:20pm after receiving reports of ongoing shootings.
Alvarez Seja, 56, was arrested by an officer without incident.
Police reports say Alvarez Seja soon confessed to the officers and allegedly said, “I shot him.” Authorities confiscated the weapons used, police report said.
The woman who, along with the victim and others, ousted from Austin later confirmed she was her husband and saw the suspect arrive at the back of the car and parked to check mail at her previous residence.
Police reports show that the woman witnessed a debate between Joss and Alvarez Seja, during which the suspect threatened to use a gun before firing.
70 calls to police have been investigated.
Authorities confirmed they are investigating 70 calls to police related to actor Joss’ home and a fire that destroyed his residence earlier this year.
A few days after the crime, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus showed that he continues to investigate all his leads to understand what led to Joss’ murder.
They are also investigating the history of the community and 70 calls made to police related to the actor’s residence.
“We remember concerns about the amount of calls to Mr Joss’ residence. Over the past two years, we’ve received about 70 calls related to various neighborhood disorders, sometimes he calls.
Regarding questions about whether murder is related to the actor’s sexual orientation, McManus indicated that the crime is still under investigation.
