Shortly after California Highway Patrol officials cancelled the tracking of a vehicle stolen Saturday night, the driver bumped into two pedestrians, injuring one and killing another, before commercial operations. I ploughed into another vehicle.
Paramedics responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Randolph Street around 11:20pm, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which is handling the investigation.
Investigators later determined that the Chrysler 300 driver would travel at high speed, slip into the intersection, slamming the Chevrolet Cruise, injuring the driver and hitting two pedestrians.
No further information was immediately available on the condition of the injured driver and pedestrian, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The 33-year-old male driver of the Chrysler 300 was arrested after crashing, authorities said. The sheriff said the vehicle was reportedly stolen.
Before the accident, California highway patrol officials were pursuing the car, according to an agency statement. However, before the crash occurred, the officers were chased.
