Authorities say a man was killed in the city of South El Monte on Wednesday afternoon.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a call around 12:15pm about a man who was attacked by a car on the block of Darfee Avenue in 2000. According to a department’s news release, he was found to be unconscious and suffering from the trauma of dull forces.
The victim was declared to have died at the scene.
Deputies found out that a man was visiting his siblings’ stores when two or three people entered the business and stole the goods. He then kicked them out of the store and chad them into the parking lot, where a physical altercation took place.
One person entered a dark sedan and deliberately slammed the man over and over again. According to the Sheriff’s Department, additional suspects or suspects got into the car and fled in an unknown direction.
John Yaghoubi told KTLA News that the victim was his 60-year-old brother, Kourosh “Steve” Yaghoubi.
“I don’t know what to do anymore,” John Yaghoubi told the station. “I lost my brother four years ago. My mother is 94. She is still in mourning for her first person. I don’t know how to tell her.”
Anyone with information about this incident will be asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau (323) 890-5500. Anonymous tips can be left on (800) 222-8477 or on the Crime Stoppers website.
