After emotional support, the family pleads for help

Searches continue for missing emotional support dogs named Brooklyn. Brooklyn reportedly disappeared from Pan Pacific Park in a brief distraction moment earlier this week. The dog owner, Yulia Bayerman, believes Brooklyn has been stolen and is now seeking help from the public.

Brooklyn, a registered emotional support animal of 10-year-old white Maltese, had no rows around 2:30pm on Monday, July 21st, with Beyman in the park with her young daughter. According to a police report submitted by Bayerman and information released by private investigator Moses Castillo, the dog was filmed just minutes after a temporary attention was brought to the attention of passersby.

“It’s about family. Brooklyn is someone’s lifeline and you need a deck with every hand,” said Castillo, who leads the search effort after Bayerman turned to private help when police said it would take time for them to respond.

Byeman told authorities he visited the park daily with his daughter and Brooklyn. She said Brooklyn will be bare-trained and provide critical support for her seizures and anxiety disorders if something is wrong.

“He’s my son, he’s not a dog. He’s my son and then I had a daughter. They’re my two children,” she said.

On the day of the incident, Brooklyn was not wearing a collar or ID tag, nor did he have a microchip. He wore a small blue vest. Byeman says he took a photo of Brooklyn and then took a selfie with someone else five minutes before he realized he was missing. She quickly searched the area, waiting for hours at the park, believing someone took the dog directly to the adjacent car park. She says the park has surveillance cameras near the playground, but can only be accessed by law enforcement. According to Castillo, some of these cameras are currently disconnected.

Since Brooklyn’s Lost Disappearance, Byeman has posted flyers in Los Angeles County and has called for help through social media and the Citizen app. “He’s my lifeline. He’s my daughter’s best friend. He’s sitting with her in a stroller… I haven’t even left him at home,” she said.

Brooklyn, known as a critical emotional support animal, was last seen near the entrance to a playground in Pan Pacific Park.

Other dog owners in the community have expressed sympathy. “It’s family. It’s very emotional,” said Joan Stephen, a fellow pet owner at the park.

As of Friday, no leads have been reported, and the Byman family is offering rewards for the return of Brooklyn. Anyone with information will be encouraged to contact us.
