Authorities say the person was hospitalized after reports of a man fired a gunshot after crashing in San Pedro on Sunday morning.
According to a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were dispatched to 25th Avenue and Gaffey Streets around 9am on reporting a traffic crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were not available immediately, including what vehicle was involved. However, a video posted to the Civic App shows that a white sedan appeared to have collided with a trash can near the curb of Gaffey. The LAPD airship was seen turning around the area above his head.

“The suspect said a Hispanic man, ages 30 to 40, wearing a dark shirt, began shooting in the air,” a LAPD spokesman said. “No injuries reported [but] An ambulance was requested for the man with medical problems. ”

The Los Angeles Fire Department also responded to the area, a department spokesman confirmed. LAPD officers were already on the scene when they arrived.
The spokesman noted that one person was taken to the hospital, but their condition is unknown.
No further details have been announced.
