Attorney General Pam Bondy directed a compliance review investigation on Thursday on admission policies at multiple schools at Stanford and the University of California.
The investigation, led by the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, examines diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies at Stanford. University of California, Berkeley. UCLA;University of California Irvine.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) requires compliance.
“president [Donald] Trump and I are dedicated to ending illegal discrimination and restoring merit-based opportunities across the country.
For decades, elite colleges and universities “preferred racial quotas over equality of opportunity,” according to a news release from the DOJ’s Public Relations Office.

The DOJ claims that the practice split Americans and discriminated against an entire group of applicants.
The Trump administration filed an emergency Supreme Court appeal this week. This would allow for a cut in hundreds of millions of dollars in grants from the education sector if recognized.
Fox News Digital reported this week that several universities of Virginia have cut DEI departments and initiatives, in line with Trump’s executive order directive.

The previous administration “done nothing to advance the ideology behind this illegal activity and protect the civil rights of American students,” the DOJ wrote on its release.
“The Justice Department will put an end to a shameful system in which someone’s race is more important than their abilities,” said acting assistant attorney general Chad Mizzel. “All universities and universities should know that illegal discrimination in hospitalization will be investigated and eliminated.”

According to the DOJ, the Investigation of Compliance with these universities is “just the beginning of the department’s work in eradicating illegal DEIs and protecting legal equality.”
