The arrest of immigrants in Los Angeles has been headline news and has been the subject of legal disputes for the past few weeks, but Angelenos, who watches the drama on television, may be confused about the person who is holding people in handcuffing and carrying them out.
After all, some of the federal agents involved in the attack are in vehicles with no visible badges, dressed in street clothing, and without marks covering their faces. Are they the US Homeland Security Agency, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers, or Homeland Security Investigation officials? What is the difference?
All of these federal agencies are branches of the Department of Homeland Security, created to combat U.S. terrorism following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The obligations include responding to natural disasters, terrorism and homeland security threats, implementing trade laws (by checking products coming and going to the United States), and managing the flow of people and products at US borders. Three branches of Homeland Security are enforced on these missions: US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigation, and US Customs Border Patrol.
Federal agents were recently spotted without identifying clothes or badges, covered their faces and were armed with pistols at the Dodger Stadium entry gate on Thursday.
When protesters learned of the presence of officials and demonstrated outside the stadium, they had signs of reading “Ice from LA”.
However, outside the stadium officials said that in reality, “we were in the stadium parking lot, but in the stadium parking lot, independent of any operation or execution.”
Are you confused?
Homeland security officials are saying that the way immigration officials identify themselves when they run operations is to verbally say they are ice or homeland security agents. The federal agency also said immigration agents were wearing vests called “ICE/ERO” or “Homeland Security,” with each department being named on either or both sides of the vehicle.
“When our heroic law enforcement officers carry out their operations, they clearly identify themselves as law enforcement, wearing masks to protect themselves from being targeted by highly sophisticated gangs such as Tren de Aragua, MS-13, criminals, murderers, rapists and more.”

US immigration and customs enforcement
Was the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officer in Los Angeles? Earlier in the month, U.S. immigration and customs enforcement officers stormed a fashion warehouse in downtown Los Angeles, arresting more than 40 migrant workers, sparking anti-immigration protests across the county.
What is the mission of ice cream? According to the federal agency website, ICE, together with agency enforcement and removal operations personnel, identifies, arrests, detains, removes and removes immigrants without permission in the United States.

What is HSI’s mission? The HSI is an agency within the Department of Homeland Security and a branch within Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Homeland Security Investigations focus on investigating crimes “at home, abroad, online” according to the Homeland Security website.
The department is conducting federal criminal investigations into illegal activities in people entering and leaving the United States, goods, money, drugs, arms, illegal technology exports, and illegal technology exports outside the United States.
Authorities are also investigating crimes such as child exploitation, human trafficking, financial fraud and fraud.
US Customs Border Patrol

There are two other federal agencies on the street.
National Guard
Officials have vowed to send at least 2,000 National Guard personnel to Los Angeles. So far, they have primarily protected federal buildings.
It is unknown how many people are on the ground at the moment.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decided Thursday to leave the Los Angeles military in the hands of the Trump administration while California objections filed a lawsuit in federal court.
California officials argued that the National Guard was not needed.
US Marines
The federal government also deployed the US Marines to Los Angeles.
The US Northern Command, which oversees US-based troops, said Marines will work with the National Guard forces under “Task Force 51.” Marines, like security guards, said they are “trained in rules of de-escalation, crowd control and use of force.”
Air Force Gen. Gregory Guillott told the Times earlier this month that Los Angeles Marines had limited authority and were deployed solely to defend federal property and federal officials. They have no arrest power, he said.
