LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Military authorities launch an unarmed Minuteman III Intercontinental ballistic missile from Vandenburg Space Military Base in Southern California next week, in a move aimed at introducing and testing US nuclear force preparations I’m planning to raise it.
Minuteman III, an element of the country’s strategic deterrent, is under the control of the Air Force’s Global Strike Command.
The Minuteman Weapons system, conceived in the 1950s and first deployed in the early 1960s, consists of ballistic missiles within contention range stored in silos to protect against attacks.
According to the USAF website, the ICBM silo is connected to an underground launch control center where the 24-hour issue was obtained by a launch crew made up of two officers.

“The purpose of the ICBM test launch program is to demonstrate US nuclear force preparation and give confidence in the lethality and effectiveness of the country’s nuclear deterrent,” the Air Force Global Strike Command said. It states in a news release that will be released.

The launch of this test, which the authorities described as a routine, was scheduled several years ago, but coincided with the launch of previous tests, “checking the effectiveness, preparation and accuracy of the weapon system.”
Since the founding of the weapons system, the modernization program has developed a new version of Minuteman, which has expanded targeting options and sharper accuracy.
According to the USAF, there are 400 Minuteman missiles at various space forces bases around the country.
“According to standard procedures, the United States will send pre-release notices and inform the Russian government in advance, pursuant to existing bilateral obligations, in accordance with the Hague Code of Conduct,” the release states.
The test release from North Vandenberg is scheduled for February 18th to February 19th between 11pm Pacific Time Pacific Time.
