The man, who was already drunk when he reached the back of the car’s wheels and began huffing nitrous oxide, crashed into a parked truck and a tree before leading an officer chasing his foot, authorities say.
Upland Police Station posted a video of the incident that occurred Saturday night, calling the suspect’s actions “many poor choices.”
“He went behind the vehicle while he was drunk and didn’t stop there,” Upland police said. Witnesses said he began driving nitrous oxide while driving and began driving straight to a parked truck. ”

After colliding with the truck, the driver proceeded down the road and eventually hit a tree in front of the residence before taking off on foot, police added.
“The officers quickly arrived at the scene and chased the suspect after a short leg. “He was booked for drunk driving and his current total car was locked up.”
The suspect was not identified by name. The exact time of a particular location in the city or incident was not included in the mail.
